Dr Enayatullah Khan

Dr. Enayatullah Khan is a faculty member in the Department of History at Aliah University, Kolkata, West Bengal. He previously served at the Centre of Advanced Study in History, Department of History, Aligarh Muslim University, Aligarh, Uttar Pradesh. Dr. Khan’s research primarily focuses on Medieval Indian History, with special emphasis on natural history, health and diseases, manuscriptology as well as science and technology in medieval India. He has published a dozen research papers in reputed journals and edited volumes. He has presented more than twenty papers at national and international seminars and has delivered several invited lectures at conferences on various themes related to Medieval Indian History.

Dr. Khan is the first recipient of the Professor Syed Hasan Askari Award for the best paper on primary sources, conferred by the Indian History Congress in 2025. He has also been selected for the Associate ship of the University Grants Commission – Inter University Centre (UGC-IUC) at the Indian Institute of Advanced Study (IIAS), Rashtrapati Nivas, Shimla, in 2024. Further he holds membership of the different academic bodies and associated as member of the editorial boards of the Journals.

Currently, Dr. Khan serves as the Principal Investigator of a research project funded by the Indian National Commission for History of Science under the Indian National Science Academy (INSA), Ministry of Science and Technology, Government of India, New Delhi.
