Ordinary Membership Renewal Guide

Applicants must follow the instructions given below to avoid the rejection of their application.

  1. Fill the form yourself Only Once(multiple applications will lead to rejection of all applications and forfeiture of membership fee).
  2. Mention the Annual Membership Number (AM-……) assigned to you in the last session you attended.
  3. Upload the Proof of Annual Membership (attach any document/certificate/slip issued to you by the Indian History Congress in any previous session as a proof).
  4. Rectification of Annual Membership Number (AM-number)

AM-number is typically a five-digit number, e.g. AM-12345, and it is subject to rectification in following cases:

(a) Your AM-number contains letters like “a”, “b” or “c” (e.g. AM-12345a).
(b) Your AM-number overlaps with that of another member.
(c) Your AM-number is not of five-digits and/or unavailable in the List of Members available with the Secretary (in this case, the Secretary’s office may contact you through email or call to reverify your academic proofs for membership).

Note: The assignment of a new membership number does not affect a member’s association with the Indian History Congress, but it is expedient for updating the List of Members in the correct format.

  1. Your application for membership renewal will be successful after you pay the Renewal Membership Fee at the end of the form.

Note: After the submission of your application, the Secretary’s office will review your application before issuing you the Renewal Membership Receipt. You are advised to ensure that the provided details and documents are correct. If any discrepancy is found during/after the review process, your application will be rejected and membership fee will be forfeited.
