Sectional President of Archaeology

Professor Anil Kumar is a distinguished academician at Visva-Bharati University, Santiniketan, with over 25 years of teaching experience in Graduation and Post-graduation level in the field of Ancient History, Culture & Archaeology. He is the author of three books and over 35 articles in national and international journals. His notable works includes supervising the excavation of a Buddhist Monastery at Krimila, which significantly contributed in the understanding of early medieval eastern India. Moreover, the meticulous exploration of Krimila Adhisthana conducted by him resulted in protection of seven sites as State protected monuments in Bihar and collection of over 200 Buddhist and Brahmanical sculptures from the region. Professor Kumar is presently engaged in a project by Department of Science & Technology, Government of India, to conduct Geophysical survey of Mohane river valley in Jharkhand/ Bihar.
